A series of images created to promote photographer Drew Wheeler for his recent work on Sofia Doglio’s Crystallography collection.

It is, in my opinion, difficult for photographers to garner much recognition for their work when it appears in campaigns. Not least in fashion where the input of several creatives is required to create a successful job. Unless the photographer’s reputation is enough to be carry weight on its own, the praise he deserves can be so easily overlooked. And this is why there aren’t many smiley photographers in the world.
This set of images was created to provide Drew with some promotional material that focuses on his photography whilst providing a route back to him and his portfolio. It follows on from my initial identity work in establishing an identity and look-and-feel which he can carry forward to promote his work on future campaigns.
Uruguayan knitwear designer Sofia Doglio now lives in London. Having always had a passion for handcraft and drawing she studied Fashion Design at Universidad de la Empresa Montevideo, and spent time at one of the most respected knitwear brands in her country; Manos del Uruguay.
Inspired by the intricate symmetrical shapes found within snowflakes, this collection explores the combination of hand knitting, machine knitting and crochet to generate one off patterns that were finished with a reflective yarn. It represents the many ways in which you can see a snowflake: shape, colour and texture.
